Affirmation

(I don't remember the exact date I wrote this - it was around 2000-2001. It was inspired by Hockeychick's prayer, and written as a mantra for someone who needed an affirmation of love & self-respect.)

I am a creature unlike any other. The man I marry will be one in a million, intelligent, honorable, respectable, a man who is crazy fo me. If this is the right man for me, then he will call me, pursue me, give his love to me without being forced. If not him, then someone better will come along. I trust in the goodness of the universe to provide me with a man who loves me enough for me to feel cherished; a man whose love makes me feel *better* about myself when we're together and secure when we're apart. If this relationship doesn't work out, then I will have faith that the universe was clearing the way for the right man to come along. And above all, I know that I am a creature unlike any other, and I will never settle.
